3 – Strong & Stable September
Whether it feels like it or not, we’ve managed to go through all competitions in September and come out completely unbeaten, which is nice for once!
Sure, when you look at who we’ve played it doesn’t scream ‘title challenge’ but this was an important period to recover from a dreadful start to the season.
Wenger has managed to play nearly a completely different XI in each of the Premier League and Europa League games, meaning everyone is happy getting football.
In the month of September we scored 13 goals and conceded just 3, all of which coming whilst David Ospina was between the sticks against Cologne and BATE Borisov.
Arsenal results in September:
3-0 vs. Bournemouth
3-1 vs. Cologne
0-0 vs. Chelsea
1-0 vs. Doncaster
2-0 vs. West Brom
2-4 vs. BATE Borisov pic.twitter.com/J5G9QlVRlK— Fresh Arsenal (@Fresh_Arsenal) September 28, 2017
However, five wins and one draw (away to the champions) sounds pretty impressive to me especially when you consider just how many changes have been made.
Wilshere is ready to feature in the Premier League again and without having to worry too much about injuries, it’s been a month of players taking their chances.
All in all it puts us in a great position to go into October’s first game at home to Brighton, where three points could shift us up to fourth if results go our way.
