Arsenal’s New German Signing Will Be Secret Weapon In Title Challenge

One of the main reasons on why Arsenal did not win the title last season was due to injuries to most of our key players. Arsene Wenger responded by promising a full investigation in to the problem. The result was to bring in Shad Forsythe. Watching Arsenal’s season collapse due to injuries has been a usual sight over these years. By signing Forsythe, the Arsenal boss might have made the most important signing of this summer. There had been increasing doubts regarding the Arsenal fitness department as the injured players returned after long periods. One big example of this would be Aaron Ramsey’s mid-season injury, which arguably was one of the main reasons behind Arsenal’s downfall as far as the Premier league and the Champions League were concerned. Had Ramsey returned a month or two earlier, it may have been a different story all-together.Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil suffered injuries during a crucial phase in Arsenal’s season. Bar Walcott’s injury, there’s a serious case to be made for Wilshere’s and Ozil’s injuries. Both cases needed proper addressing by the fitness staff, which wasn’t the case. An injury to Olivier Giroud at any given time during the season would’ve totally dampened Arsenal’s hopes of challenging on any front. Luckily for Wenger and Arsenal, the Frenchman – who was Arsenal’s only senior centre-forward – remained fit throughout the season.Arsenal have done great business during this transfer window but could Forsythe be the most important? Fitness coach for the German national team, Forsythe has worked with Germany for the best part of a decade, helping get the likes of Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski in the best possible condition to help Germany win the World Cup.

Forsythe is considered to be one of the best fitness coaches in the world and has joined Arsenal’s current fitness coach Tony Colbert, who’s been in charge of the Arsenal fitness department for 16 years now. Arsene Wenger has finally made his move to address one of the most important areas in his system. The Gunners hope the appointment of Forsythe will help modernise their injury prevention techniques and signifies the start of what could be major changes at London Colney.

Forsythe’s methods may have a positive effect on a problem which definitely helped to derail their title charge last term. Fortsythe is world renowned for his work in the high-performance sport field, while his existing relationship with Arsenal’s German team mates Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker will also be a bonus.

Could this be the key to Arsenal’s future?
