Arsenal will be handed the chance to show that all of their work in pre-season wasn’t for nothing when they welcome an in-form Liverpool side to the Emirates.
Jurgen Klopp has been just as busy in the transfer window as his side have been in their summer preparations, having played a total of nine friendlies during July and August.
Despite him missing some key names like James Milner and Daniel Sturridge, the influx of new additions give him plenty of options in all areas of the starting XI.
We’ve picked out the three Liverpool players capable of making a huge impact away from home as Arsene Wenger’s side search for a pick-me-up amongst all of his transfer frustrations.
1 – Saido Mane (Right-Wing)
The highlight of Klopp’s summer shopping list, Mane has finally got his move to Merseyside and has a lot of expectation on his shoulders following that £34m price tag.
But regardless of transfer fees, Mane is a top talent and having been the star of the show at Southampton he’ll now be a part of a midfield that are on his wavelength.
That could be crucial to how he kicks off his competitive debut for the Reds, and following the injury to James Milner the former Saints man may be forced to play on the right-wing.
It’s not a position that will faze him but he’s always thrived in the central role, but Arsenal need to keep an eye on him due to his versatility to play in any of those forward positions.
Whilst his defensive work still needs improving, the ability to interchange with Phillipe Coutinho will frustrate a Gunners defence who are still getting to grips with the fact they’re starting the game.
Mane can offer goals in and around that area and it takes just seconds for Wenger’s side to switch off while the 24-year-old slots in to get another goal under his belt.
