Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has won the Czech Republic Player of the Year award for an eighth time after a tremendous debut season since his summer switch.
The 33-year-old saw off competition from the likes of David Lafata and Vladamir Darida to scoop the prize at an awards gala last night thanks to votes from some leading figures.
Journalists, managers, coaches and players all played a part in the nominations, which leaves the shot-stopper as arguably the best Czech Republican to play the game.
His role with Arsenal has been pivotal to the Gunners staying in the running for a long awaited title, and is fighting Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin to be named the Gunners man of the season.
Just before Christmas, Cech rounded off a superb start under Arsene Wenger by stealing the all-time Premier League clean sheet record from David James.
That currently stands at 170 clean sheets and looks almost impossible for anyone to catch him within the next 10 years, where he hopes to go into management at some stage.
Cech is currently recovering from a calf injury sustained in the FA Cup defeat to Watford earlier this month, but Arsene Wenger recently revealed his star man will be returning after the international break.
