Arsenal face a mammoth test against Monaco on Tuesday, as the Gunners travel to the South of France trailing 3-1 on aggregate. That means if Arsenal are to have any hope of progressing, they need to score three goals.
Naturally, the Gunners will look to their talented attack that is full of plenty of match winners. For me though, there is one man who can turn this around- and it’s not one of our expensive recruits in recent years.
Santi Cazorla is enjoying a tremendous season for Arsenal and has been a great squad player. He has filled in well in a deeper role with the likes of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere were injured. However, Ramsey is now back and should start this week.
Cazorla going forward is exactly the sort of player that Arsenal need this week, a player that will create chances for the duration of the match. He can score, he can create and he can come up with moments of magic. Arsenal need him at his best.
With Olivier Giroud in front of him and Alexis Sanchez on one side and likely Mesut Ozil on the other, with Ramsey providing support from behind, he can have a stellar game. A lot of Arsenal’s hopes will be pinned on his shoulders as he is capable of greatness.
His assist against West Ham shows exactly that. He came off the bench and set up Mathieu Flamini with a ball on a plate. He will need to do similar this week.
Can Arsenal turn it around? It will be difficult but yes, they can- and Santi Cazorla will be a key player if that is to happen.
