Arsenal Loan Watch: Afobe Scores Another Three, Wellington Silva Shines

Wellington Silva – UD Almeria

Wellington Silva was busy this week and featured in both games against Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna. In Almeria’s 1-0 loss to Atletico, Silva started and played 74 minutes, and played very well defensively, succeeding in four out of five tackles. Against Deportivo the Brazilian was a substitute in the 60th minute and was much more offensive, succeeding in three out of four take-ons.

Austin Lipman – Boreham Wood

Austin Lipman continued his run in the team with an appearance against East Preston in the FA Cup. He started the game and almost scored twice, hitting the post on one occasion and the goalie making a good save the other.

Jon Toral – Brentford

Jon Toral is having a hard time getting game time at the west London club. For the nine games Brentford has played in the Championship, Toral has played just 37 minutes. He was an unused substitute in Brentford’s win over Leeds United.

Benik Afobe – MK Dons

Benik Afobe has simply been on fire since playing with MK Dons. The English U-21 international continued his great form this week by scoring three goals in two games, two against Bradford City and one against Bristol City. So far this season Benik has scored 10 goals in 12 games, scoring a goal every 68 minutes in all competitions. He’s also the top scorer in the League Cup with five goals.

Ryo Miyaichi – FC Twente

Ryo has also been used somewhat sparingly since coming back from injury. This week he was a used sub in Twente’s 3-1 win over Achilles ’29 and came on in the 59th minute. However the Japanese international started in Twente’s 3-1 win over Utrecht, but came off in the 53rd minute.

Carl Jenkinson – West Ham United

Carl Jenkinson has been given short runs in games since coming back from his injury. The England international was a used substitute in West Ham United’s loss to Manchester United in the 65th minute
