Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign David Ospina for £3million after a contract was agreed, according to NiceMartin.
Fresh Arsenal told you yesterday that Arsenal were in advanced talks to sign the Colombian keeper, and now a deal appears to be close to being concluded.
The Colombian goalkeeper, 25, has been impressive in the last 12 months and could be available for just £3million. For his age he has racked up some impressive experience, managing 44 caps for his country and 177 games for Nice. At 6ft, Ospina is on the short side for a goalkeeper, but is well known for his impressive reflexes and agility between the sticks.
Ospina is Arsene Wenger’s first choice and a deal looks like it would be relatively simple to conclude.
Arsene Wenger is looking to sign one experienced goalkeeper to compete with Szczesny next season, after letting Viviano return to Italy and Fabianski join Swansea on a free transfer.
The Gunners are likely to promote Damian Martinez to the first team next season and make him the third choice goalkeeper, but youngster Matt Macey remains in contention.
Arsenal have enquired for a whole host of goalkeepers in the last month, with Keylor Navas impressing Wenger at the World Cup, and John Ruddy also thought to be a serious option.
