Arsenal Activate Loïc Rémy’s Release Clause

Arsenal have activated Loic Remy’s £8.5million release clause according to West London Sport, and now being backed up by Daily Mail.

The 27 year old was left out of the QPR squad today amid exit rumours. Arsenal have around 48 hours to find a new striker to join the squad, with just Alexis Sanchez and Yaya Sanogo viewed as the natural strikers currently available to Arsene Wenger.

Chelsea had met his release clause earlier in the week after Fernando Torres agreed to leave the club for Italy. But Remy could be persuaded to join Arsenal who might not offer as much in wages but they are his boyhood club and he is much more likely to play at the Emirates than as a third choice at Stamford Bridge.

Whatever club Remy chooses, he will stay in London and that and the fact he has scored many goals in the Premier League already, proves he can adjust to Arsenal easily. With Giroud out injured until January Arsenal need a striker that can join the squad immediately and score goals. Remy, despite not being world class, can offer this.
