It looks as if Arsenal are finally starting to get off the ground in terms of transfer business, and today’s latest update will excite a lot of Gunners fans.
Reports are beginning to break that Arsene Wenger has had a £30million bid rejected by Leicester City for their star man and PFA Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez.
Yesterday we brought you the news that Mahrez has told all parties involved in this deal that he only wants a move to the Gunners this summer, issuing a come-and-get-me request.
Consultant for popular French newspaper L’Equipe, Gilles Favard, has revealed an exclusive story that Leicester were not willing to let the 25-year-old go for that price.

The bid is at the lower end of Mahrez’s valuation, and due to a release clause in the Algerian’s contract the Gunners are able to get the winger without having to pay an extortionate fee.
However, it looks as if Wenger is prepared to step up his pursuit of the attacker and will increase his offer significantly to land Mahrez as close to the start of the season as possible.

Mahrez will have chosen the Gunners for a number of reasons, and despite the overwhelming interest from Chelsea it looks as if he’s made up his mind on his next club.
A chance to challenge top talent for the first team position is something he hasn’t had to contend with and being the natural competitor that he is that’s an attractive prospect.
He’ll also have assurances over long-term football at the top-level, with Arsenal’s run of Champions League football nearing 20 consecutive years.
Not to mention, he’ll triple his wage under the Gunners, something Leicester City are reluctant to do in order to balance the books if they fail to enjoy the success they achieved last year.
