Arsenal officials may have found a way to stop sweating over the futures of star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
According to London Evening Standard’s James Olley, who has close connections with the club, the pair are willing to sign a new deal on one condition.
It’s believed they are requesting reassurances from the club over what the plans are for this summer’s transfer window and who’s on the wish-list.
Alexis Sanchez was deemed to be unhappy when Arsenal completed just one signing in the transfer window of 2015, where the only arrival was Petr Cech.
And now it looks as if they want concrete names that are set to join the club before they make any sort of decision on whether or not to stay in North London.
After Arsene Wenger signed a new two-year deal it’s reported the club have a £100million kitty to play with over the next few months.
But despite spending a similar amount last summer, Arsenal drifted out of the top four and crashed out of the Champions League in horrendous fashion.
Therefore Ozil and Alexis, who are the club’s highest earners, want to know a detailed plan of the areas that will be invested in ready for the new campaign.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they hold out until a signing is announced, because another one of Wenger’s shortcomings is failing to buy early in the market.
So it could be a matter of complete the business early and seal the future of Alexis and Ozil in the process – something every Arsenal fan wants to see happen.
