Arsenal managed to secure their first back to back wins of the season as they comfortably beat Burnley 3-0 at the Emirates. The away side worked hard but the Gunners always looked in control and could have scored more. Here’s the player ratings:
Wojciech Szczęsny – 6
Had nothing to do for most of the game. Made a couple of little errors that were almost punished.
Calum Chambers – 8
Great assist for Alexis Sanchez’ first goal and managed to score his first Arsenal goal. He’ll be delighted and he deserves a goal for playing so well since his arrival.
Per Mertesacker – 6
Held our defence together well, although the understanding with Monreal doesn’t look quite their yet.
Nacho Monreal – 6
Again, looks unnatural in centre back, but can’t fault him. Didn’t have much to do.
Kieran Gibbs – 7
Has found a consistency to his performances now. Very good attacking threat and illustrated that with a lovely assist for Alexis’ second goal.
Mathieu Flamini – 7
Flamini was much more impressive than normal. Made a few key interceptions and helped nullify Burnley’s threats.
Mikel Arteta – 6 (Replaced by Ramsey in the 60th minute)
Kept things ticking. Didn’t do much else. Arteta will need to do more to convince Arsenal fans he’s good enough to continue being a regular in this team.
Santi Cazorla – 5
What’s happened Santi? He is at least getting into goalscoring positions, but he can’t seem to find the net anymore? He hasn’t for too long now and his consistently poor performances are becoming a concern.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8 (Replaced by Walcott in the 80th minute)
Made some excellent runs, very energetic performance and wanted to make things happen. He needs to build on this positive performance.
Alexis Sanchez – 10 – Man of the Match
Another world-class performance from the Chilean. Scored another two goals and was extremely creative in the number 10 role.

Danny Welbeck – 7 (Replaced by Podolski in the 80th minute)
He didn’t have his best game in an Arsenal shirt, but will feel like he’s had bad luck not to score today. Two good efforts were cleared off the line. Good energetic performance but maybe needs to attack the near post more.
Subs
Lukas Podolski (on 80) – 7
Unlucky not to score twice. Two powerful efforts, one rattled the post.
Aaron Ramsey – 6
Replaced Arteta and brought more offensive quality. His passing still looks off though.
Theo Walcott (on 80) – 6
Came on in 80th minute after 10 months out and looked bright and confident in possession. A nice cameo return for him.
