Fantasy Football is now well underway and it’s getting to the stage where the decisions you make in midweek in preparation for the weekend’s fixtures are vital to your league standings. With numerous injury problems across the league, let alone Arsenal, and loss of form for certain players it can be extremely difficult to decide who to take and who to drop.
Arsenal is a difficult team to pick from considering their wealth of talented players, though many experience blips in form. However, I’m on hand to help with three players you should think about putting in your fantasy team this weekend.
1. Alexis Sanchez
Since making the summer move from Barcelona, Sanchez has become an instant fan favourite for his performances on the field due to his never say die attitude and his desire to win the ball back whenever he loses it. Of course, this doesn’t earn you fantasy points though so there are other areas of his play that you must look.
The two big ones are fairly simple. First of all, his goalscoring record has been decent since his arrival as he has now scored in the Champions League, Premier League and League Cup. His goal in midweek against Southampton was sublime and he will be looking to continue that form this weekend. Secondly, he doesn’t pick up many bookings which means you will not have points deducted from your team.
Sanchez’ concern this weekend is whether he actually starts the game, as he did not feature in last weekend’s victory against Aston Villa. However, he can still make a telling contribution of the bench- especially up against a struggling Tottenham Hotspur defence.
