Interesting Fact: Bellerin followed the same route as Fabregas by switching Barcelona for Arsenal at the age of 16.
Hector Bellerin is highly rated amongst the Arsenal staff and fans who follow the youth teams. Joining the club at the age of 16, Bellerin has made great progression over the last few years. Still a teenager, Hector has a great chance to make an impact on the Arsenal first team this season, considering their lack of options in defence. He’s got the potential to be a first team regular at the Emirates, and hopefully he sticks around and waits for his chance.
How much will he play?
Bellerin is officially the third choice right back at the club, but with Calum Chambers the only back up centre half, Bellerin may well be called upon this season. He’s not going to play a lot, but expect him to feature in the cups and if injuries mount in the Premier League. He’s good at left back too, and with Gibbs injury prone, who knows how much he’ll play?
How well will he do?
If Bellerin gets the chance to play this season, I am sure he will impress. He has the right attitude and right attributes to be a top player for Arsenal. With experience already at left and right back, Bellerin is unlikely to need too much time to adjust, if called upon. He’s got pace and good crossing ability, two components that are essential for full backs in our system.
