Arsenal have tonight submitted a transfer bid for Barcelona forward Pedro, according to RAC1 Radio in Spain.
RAC1 is a catalan radio station and our Spanish little helper Rafael Hernandez described the station as ‘a good source for Barcelona news, a lot better than Sport and Marca, for example.’ So it seems this bid is genuine, and it doesn’t surprise me after as Arsene Wenger has been heavily interested in the player for over a year now.
The Spanish winger managed 15 goals and eight assists last season for a trophy-less Barcelona, predominantly playing from the left-wing – but he is equally adept on the right.
Pedro admitted uncertainty about his future at the Nou Camp earlier this week when he told Mundo Deportivo:
“I don’t know what’s going to happen yet, I don’t know anything. I’m calm though, I’m at the World Cup and that’s all that matters right now.
“When a decision has to be made, I’ll speak with the club and we’ll see what happens. Right now I’m only concentrating on the Spain squad and having a good World Cup. Whatever comes in the future, will come”.
The 26-year-old recently questioned Barcelona’s decision to sell Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea:
“Cesc is a great player for the team. [If he joins Chelsea] then that’s a pity for Barca, I haven’t spoken to him. He’s focused on the World Cup. I think he’s a great midfielder, very complete, and if he goes it will be a shame for Barca.”
