Today reports suggest Arsenal want Sami Khedira and are in talks with Milan and Madrid for Balotelli and Benzema. See all the Arsenal transfer news in our Gossip Column.
Arsenal are plotting a £15million move for Sami Khedira, who has 1 year left on his contract (Mirror). He has only recently recovered from a serious knee injury, but is the perfect solution to our midfield deficiencies. He would bring a wealth of top level experience to the club, would link up with our German elite and ex-teammate Mesut Ozil. I can’t think of a better option for that price in the position Arsenal need. He is more needed than Fabregas and would cost half the price.
Arsenal are free to sign Gareth Barry who was released by Man City (GMF). We wanted him last season and he was very impressive this season to be fair, however he is not the long term solution and we need to sign someone like Khedira or Martinez or if we go from the Premier League I’d like the lad from Southampton whose name I cannot spell. Barry is a good player but too old – we have Arteta and Flamini who are old and can play in that position. We need a fresh option, younger and more powerful.
Mario Balotelli wants to move to England with Arsenal and Liverpool the most likely destinations (Mail). Balotelli is definitely a gamble. We all know about his off the field antics, and the potential to disrupt a dressing room – but his quality is undeniable. Super Mario apparently wants to return to the Premier League, and there is no place where he could thrive more than at Arsenal. £30million could prove to be a bargain if he fulfils his potential at the Emirates.

Arsenal are in talks with Real Madrid for Karim Benzema (Mail). This would be a good move for Arsenal. Benzema is a quality striker, and for just £30million it could be a really good deal. Benzema has just 1 year left on his contract and Madrid want to sign Suarez. Perhaps, as we funded Bale’s transfer, we could do it again this summer. Maybe we should go for di Maria too. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is considering James Milner as a surprise replacement right-back for Bacary Sagna (Telegraph). This could be a decent move from Arsene. I think Milner is a good player, if both Aurier and Milner were signed it would allow Jenkinson to be loaned out and Aurier and Milner provide extra cover to the heart of the defence, and all around the midfield. Milner would be an excellent signing for the squad, and a homegrown player. He wants out – £10million could do it.
