Loic Remy has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is set to join Arsenal by suggesting that he has an offer from a Champions League club. The Gunners have been heavily linked to Remy and he was even spotted at the Emirates last week.
The French striker who has been selected for the France National Squad for the World Cup this summer told press “I miss the Champions League.
He continued: “It is a very special competition. Next season I can play the Champions League again. We will see what happens, if I stay here or if we play in the Champions League.”
Remy still belongs to Q.P.R. who have a chance of being promoted to the Premier League after they reached the Championship Play-Off Final on Monday night. Even if they are promoted, Remy is likely to move on from the London club and both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with the forward who scored 14 goals this season. With Remy declaring his love for the Champions League, Arsenal would be in pole position to sign Remy, if Arsene Wenger desires. It may be worth signing him before the World Cup in case he puts himself in the shop window.
Remy has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season compared to Giroud’s 16 but the Newcastle man averaged 0.6 every 90mins, while Arsenal’s Giroud averaged 0.48. So already, there’s a clear difference. Should Remy play more often, he’ll score more often and I believe he has the ability to reach 20-25 in the league at Arsenal.

Arsenal fans are likely to be unhappy if Remy was the only striker signed this summer, but there is some hope that Wenger will be looking to make a few additions to his attack after suggesting the club were lacking a lot in the attacking department. Remy would certainly add something different to the attack and add a bit of pace through the middle. A lack of pace upfront has made the Gunners attack all too predictable and blunted on too many occasions this season – especially in games against the other top teams in the league.
