Arsenal got their pre-season schedule off to a winning start with a convincing win in Spain over Girona on Saturday evening.
The Gunners named a reasonably strong first eleven, though the English, French and Spanish contingents were yet to return following their involvement in the World Cup competition.
The majority of the football was played in the first 60 minutes, before both sides made wholesale changes. New signing Cristos Tzolis was bright in his first 60 minutes, whilst Max Dowman, who emerged last pre-season, notched up a goal and assist.

After 60-minute shout: After 60, lots more changes were made, including Meslier, Nelson and lots of youngsters. I wanted to call out Ife Ibrahim, a tall young central midfielder, who stood out.
