With European football and summer transfer budgets all dependant on the final score on Saturday evening, it was nice to have a welcome distraction from all of the mounting pressure.

Arsenal’s new boy, William Saliba, was kitted up and can be seen in the above picture as he enjoys his first group session of the year following his return from a season-long loan spell at St Etienne.

Seeing out his final days at the club he grew up with, Saliba has had to move on quickly from the heartache of not being granted the chance to play in the Coupe de France final last weekend.

Nevertheless, he’s an addition that Mikel Arteta will be overjoyed to have in training, with each of Mustafi, Mari and Chambers all looking set to miss the start of next season.

In a more positive injury update, it was good to see Bernd Leno, Reiss Nelson and Hector Bellerin join the pre-Chelsea session, with the latter now back and available for selection after missing the final Premier League game of the season as a precaution.

Here’s some of the best shots…
