So Ivan Gazidis has gone.

Good riddance to him, as far as I’m concerned. He talked well, did some ‘OK’ deals, but didn’t really move the club forward on or off the pitch with the decisions he made. It makes sense for me for him to leave – especially if his hearts not in it.

And so now we talk about his replacement or lack of. It seems the Gunners did not want to replace Ivan directly and have instead upped the responsibilities for Raul Sanllehi – who was brought in from Barcelona as Head of Football Relations in the summer. It is said that he will be very influential in transfers.

So who does he want? Well according to Football London, Sanllehi’s main target is Cristian Pavon. The 22-year-old is still playing for Boca Juniors but is a very talented winger who is held in high regard by many European clubs. The report suggests that Arsenal are already in talks with Boca for a deal for Pavon.

The Argentinean international is likely to cost Arsenal in excess of £25million, but for a player with his potential, I’m sure the club will be comfortable paying a fee in that region.

Pavon has been in fine form for Boca so far this season, scoring two goals in four starts.

The is certainly one worth keeping your eyes on. Should he join, he looks a good investment on Football Index, click on the banner below to sign up and starting buying players like Pavon, who you think could rise in value over the coming months.
