Arsenal Striker Says He’s Ready To Fight For The Title Amid Exit Talks

It’s becoming common for Arsenal players to get questioned on their hunger for the Premier League title as yet another season goes by without it.

However, it seems as if Olivier Giroud has pledged his future to the Gunners following a series of rumours that suggested he was ready to walk.

The Frenchman has come under fire at times this season for not being the cutting edge striker many clubs need to win such a prestigious trophy.

Giroud has made jut 17 starts in all competitions this season, the lowest on record since he signed from Montpellier back in 2012 for just short of £10million.

Despite that, he’s been used as a crucial player from off the bench and has managed to bag himself 16 goals this campaign, rescuing a number of important points.

But with the lack of game time on his mind and the prospect of being forced out by Welbeck and Alexis at centre forward, Giroud has been quick to scrap any talks of a summer exit:

There’s nothing fixed but I’d say I feel good at Arsenal. I have two more years on my contract, we’ll see what the future will be.

The Premier League is an increasingly high-profile and contested championship, where five or six teams can potentially claim the title.

This is why I still want to continue to want to win this title.

At 31 I don’t see why Giroud has any reason to be demanding a move anyway. He’s just signed a very lucrative contract that keeps him here for two years.

Whether you love him or hate him, he can score goals that change games and having his experience around the dressing room will be a big impact.

Sure, he’s getting £80,000 a week where he’ll mostly sit on the bench next season but when needed, he’s proven he’s still got the desire to be an influential player.
