Arsene Wenger has always loved playing the media at their own game, and has once again got the fans on the end of a puppet string.

Since Christmas the Arsenal supporters have been put through hell waiting to find out what would be the Frenchman’s intentions for the future.

Not only has it affected the players performances, it’s had fans divided by boycotting games and fighting outside the Emirates Stadium.

All of the things listed above are not what this great club stands for, and the longer we’ve had to wait, the more uncertainty has grown as to where this club will go.

However, during the press conference ahead of what could be his final ever game in charge at the Emirates, Wenger confirmed when his future will be decided.

And although it wasn’t the big announcement we’ve all been waiting for, Wenger did reveal he will meet with club officials after the FA Cup final on May 27th.

There are many aspects to be discussed at a board meeting. One is what happens with the manager.

Of course I will be there. At the moment we should focus on the short term and what is going on on Sunday and in the cup final.

The understanding behind Wenger’s future is that he’ll sign a one year deal regardless of whether Arsenal make it into the Champions League.

It’s believed the Arsenal board will justify that decision by stating he’s the best man for the job in terms of turning things around in a short space of time.

Reports have also suggested Wenger will be handed a massive transfer kitty in order to by the exact players he wants, regardless of competition from Europe’s big boys.

Whether you like it or not, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of Wenger because the club have failed to put together any sort of plan to succeed the 67-year-old.

His contract runs out at the end of May, so we will have to have heard an announcement by then, regardless of what the decision is.
