Arsenal prepare third bid for Suárez

Arsenal are readying a third bid for Luis Suarez believed to be in the region of £43million after bids of £35million and £40million were rejected earlier this month. The offer will be made up of clauses and add-ons and the Gunners remain confident of a deal being completed for the Uruguayan.

The third offer may be stalled until the Gunners are in a position to believe that the situation Liverpool find themselves in means they are more likely to accept the offer. As Madrid’s chase for Bale continues Arsenal appear the only bidder for Suarez and with the player wanting to leave, Liverpool and Rodgers are going to find it hard to continue to turn down substantial offers from Arsenal.

BBC reported last week that Suarez wants and expects to be playing for a Champions League club next season, and so will push for a move. The player of course will not be able to play in the first six games of the Premier League season due to suspension, but will be able to help Arsenal qualify for the Champions League group stage by being eligible for the two-legged qualifying tie – if he signs in time. BBC also went on to say that the player would be willing to move to the Emirates, but is willing to take his time over a decision.

Expect more to develop on this in the coming days, with the talks between Arsenal and Suarez pivotal to any deal. If Arsene and the club can convince Suarez to submit a formal transfer request and no interest is shown from other clubs, then it could all go through smoothly – or smoother than right now.
