Arsenal set to increase bid for Suarez

Arsenal are set to improve on their £30million offer for Luis Suarez which was turned down last week. The London Evening Standard and other media outlets report that the Gunners will make another bid in the region of £35million in the coming days – a bid likely to test Liverpool’s resolve.

Arsene Wenger has remained tight-lipped on transfer rumours linking the club with Luis Suarez after the Frenchman was quizzed on interest in a press conference during the clubs Asia tour.

The BBC confirmed earlier this week that Arsenal had a £30million bid turned down and since the story has begun to grow and more fans are starting to believe that a move could happen.

Arsene: “Suarez? As you know the transfer period demands secrets and confidentiality, so I can’t answer the question,” the Frenchman told reporters.”

Liverpool’s manager said on the situation: “He’s got three years left on his contract. We don’t want to sell him. We think we can put up a real fight next season,” Brendan Rodgers told talkSPORT.

“He’s a real competitor, he’s a winner, he wants Liverpool to do well, he wants to be working at the real high level.”
