Arsene Wenger has released all of the latest information on who is ready to return to action, and there’s some very good news to look forward to.
The Frenchman revealed that both Jack Wilshere and Thomas Rosicky will play a part in Friday’s Under-21 clash with Newcastle United, which will be played at the Emirates.
And whilst that looks to be a welcome boost to the squad, Wenger added that he will be taking Wilshere’s return with serious caution with there being so much riding on it.
The midfielder is looking to build up enough momentum to make a strong case to join the England squad for this years European Championships in France.
And with the return to action from Wilshere being a thing we’re very much used to seeing, often in the past he’s only managed to last a month before picking up another injury.
Arsene Wenger gave full updates on the majority of Arsenal’s injured stars during his pre-match press conference ahead of West Ham, and there’s also been a positive update on Aaron Ramsey.
Jack Wilshere:
A key member of the side will bolster our options to rotate, but you have to say with just six games to go Wilshere isn’t going to be given a big chance to impress.
You also have to look at whether his impact is actually needed in the first team, with such a dynamic duo of Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny featuring.
All in all it will provide a promising boost to this squad, and Wenger will want to ensure the man he brought through the academy has a seat on the plane this summer.
Let’s not rush him. He will play for the Under-21’s tomorrow but I am cautious.
I believe he has a real football brain, he loves the sport, he is very dedicated.
Thomas Rosicky:Â
The former Czech international will be handed the chance to have his fairytale ending to a big Arsenal career, something the fans will be eager to see.
Wenger confirmed that Rosicky will also be in action for the Under-21’s and will also play with caution, so expect him to be handed 45 minutes or so.
His return won’t see him go straight back into the starting XI but having the his footballing brain on the bench could be vital in the business end of the season.
Aaron Ramsey:
The Welsh international is certain to have a place in the squad for the Euro’s, but he is still eyeing a strong finish to help his side leapfrog North London rivals Spurs in the Premier League.
His versatility allows us to have options on the flanks, or to bring in reinforcements when trying to snatch a win, something that could be pivotal in these last few games.
Ramsey could join the squad again because he had a good training session on Wednesday and would normally have a final test on Friday.
There’s a possibility he could be back in the squad. Flamini is in a similar situation.
Other Injuries:Â
The overall picture in terms of injuries is starting to clear up quite nicely with just Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain working on their recoveries.
Santi and Alex are the only injuries now.
At the moment we (are waiting) on Alex coming back to fitness and Santi to practise. They should not be too far. Overall, the injury situation looks quite good.
