Arsene Wenger has reiterated he is still unsure on the future of Mathieu Debuchy, despite a number of reports linking the defender with a transfer. Whilst in terms of incomings, it looks like we’re closed for business.
The 30-year-old has been cast out of the Gunners squad following the rise of youngster Hector Bellerin and failure to secure a single convincing performance this season.
After moving to the Emirates Stadium back in the Summer of 2014, Debuchy has made 21 starts for the club, with just six of those coming in the current campaign.
For those reasons and with Euro 2016 coming up in a few months, both Wenger and Debuchy want to work together to sort the best solution for the right full-back.

It seems as if the boss is uncertain on where the defender wants to end up, but both Aston Villa and Sunderland have come into contention recently.
Sam Allardyce was questioned on whether or not he was interested in the services of the experienced defender, and despite his confirmation, he admitted the move looked complicated – and that the situation may have changed.
I don’t think he wants to leave or Arsenal or Wenger wants to let him go.
That second reason could be apparent after recent events saw Carl Jenkinson suffer an injury that could lay him out for the majority of the rest of the season.
Wenger’s options at right full-back would then come to Calum Chambers, who is more focused on coming through as a centre back now and working on the holding role over the festive period.
Wherever he ends up, Debuchy needs to ensure he’s getting game time at a competitive level, because with players coming back from injury there isn’t even space for him on the bench any more.
