Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he does not want Petr Cech to join Arsenal this summer- but he has conceded it is out of his hands.
The 32-year-old has played just six times in the Premier League this season and is due to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season- and he has been given his blessing to choose his next club after 11 long years of service to the Blues.
Arsenal are heavily touted as a likely destination for the Czech international but Mourinho has stated he would prefer Cech to leave the Premier League, potentially joining Inter Milan or Roma.
Speaking to reporters, he said:
“One thing is Jose Mourinho and another is Mr Abramovich and another thing is the board because the board is a little bit of me and other people,’
‘If it was my decision, the decision is Petr to stay. That’s it.’
Arsenal are in the market for a new goalkeeper to strengthen their title bid next season and the arrival of Petr Cech would give them a big boost, as the Gunners look to win their first league title since 2004 and celebrate Arsene Wenger’s 20th year at the helms of Arsenal in style.
