AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy says he is grateful of Arsenal’s supposed interest- but insists he is focused on his career with the Italian giants.
The Egyptian-born Italian international is highly-rated on the continent and the Gunners have supposedly been tracking the player for a while.
El Shaarawy has been out of action for the past five weeks and is now targeting a return to the Milan first-team but is aware of the interest from the Premier League.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, the 22-year-old said:
“My goal is to get back as soon as possible. The interest of Arsenal surely gratifies me but my goal is to return to Milan and do well at Milan.”
Any genuine interest from Arsenal seems to now be over, as the Gunners now have the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain impressing in the first-team.
It would be extremely surprising if the Gunners launched a raid on the Italian this summer, especially given the injury problems that have plagued him over the past 18 months.
