A test like this will be a refreshing change for the Gunners, who have picked up just one win on opening day in the last six years, a statistic that usually leads to anarchy against Wenger.

But instead of sticking with a predicted XI that have played the majority of pre-season, Arsenal now have options across the midfield to warrant some big calls.

Given the fact he’s talked about Alexis in the centre forward role, it’s likely that the recent Copa America winner will be given the chance to run out much to the fans appreciation.

The big decision lies in holding midfield, where so many players are gunning for a starting spot with Jack Wilshere also ready to come back into the picture.

However, I feel that it has to be a midfield duo of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka, both of whom have done tremendously well since their arrival at the club.

At defence it looks to be only one option unless Arsenal can land a defender this week, so Rob Holding can expect a place in the side, something he wouldn’t have even dreamt of following his switch.

Here’s how the Gunners should line up on Sunday afternoon, but let us know who makes your XI by commenting below!

Predicted XI: Cech (c), Bellerin, Chambers, Holding, Monreal, Elneny, Xhaka, The Ox, Ramsey, Iwobi, Alexis
