3 – Iwobi Isn’t Finished
If you were one of the people doubting whether or not Iwobi was a rare talent for just one season, then prepare to eat your words.
The winger was handed 69 minutes out on the left flank and once again he showed he was capable of filling in at Alexis’ regular position by bagging himself another pre-season goal.
That gets his summer tally up to three from five games and when you consider he’s still a 20-year-old we can expect so much more from the former academy graduate.
His consistent performances suggest he’s in line for a starting place against Liverpool and that would send a big message out from Arsene Wenger who has an array of options on the wing.
Just because it’s a new season that doesn’t mean the likes of Walcott or The Ox can just stroll back into the starting line-up so competition will be high right from the first whistle.
We’ve already seen that duo up their game since Lens and now Iwobi is giving Wenger a selection headache ahead of the weekend, but that’s gotta be a good thing right?
