A season of ups and downs. A season which highlighted deficiencies. A season that promised so much. A season that delivered silverware, finally.
1. Silverware
They’re newly crowned champions but Arsenal did it the hard way. After knocking out Tottenham, Coventry, Liverpool and Everton, Arsenal had to rely on penalties to defeat Wigan in order to make the FA Cup final. Fabianski’s heroics the particular highlight of that match but it was the final which was the most dramatic moment of the season for Arsenal fans. 2-0 down against Hull City after 10minutes, Arsenal staged a comeback showing character, courage and desire.
2. Aaron Ramsey
Probably the player of the season despite missing a third of the campaign. When missing through injury the Arsenal team struggled for momentum, runners and goals from midfield. This season capped off a great 18 months of form for the Welshman who is turning into a reliable box to box midfielder who has everything in his locker.
