I first have to start out by congratulating the team on winning the FA Cup. It’s a great accomplishment and just shows what direction Arsenal FC is headed in. But with no more games to focus on, the transfer window and bring in players in is the main concern. Not only does the club need to focus on how to improve the team, but how to replace their departing players. Here are some targets from the Bundesliga I think Arsenal should target. All market values are from transfermarkt.com.
1. Mario Mandzukic
Ever since I saw Mario Mandzukic in the 2008 Euro, I wanted him at Arsenal. The Croatian-international is a complete forward. He offers a great aerial threat, stretches play, links up play, and scores goals. He was the second highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga behind his soon-to-be-replacement, Robert Lewandowski. He is clearly undervalued by Pep Guardiola and I think Arsenal can be the place for him. He suits our style of play, maintains having a “plan B” by giving us an aerial threat, and is a team player. His market value is £26.5 million and I could see us getting him for just about that.
