5 Players Arsenal Should Target from Serie A

Name: Leandro Castán da Silva
Current Team: AS Roma
Position: Defender
Age: 27

2013-14 season statistics: 89 interceptions, 26 blocked shots, 196 clearances

Leandro Castán joined AS Roma as a centre-back in 2012 where he quickly established a regular place in the starting XI. He started his youth career with Atlético Mineiro before joining them professionally in 2005. Helisingborg was his next stop in 2007 where he was loaned out to Barueri for the season of 2007-08 before signing a contract with them for the season of 2008-09. From 2010-12 he played for Corinthians. Castán has earned two caps playing for Brazil since 2012 although he’s been excluded from the Brazilian national team for the World Cup 2014. The coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari possibly picked Dante, another left-footed Bayern Munich defender, over Castán.

There may be other footballers you consider who’d be more worthy by their ability to join Arsenal. Please comment and let me know your thoughts on my five choices.
