The Spanish league is home to the world’s two greatest players and a plethora of talent at every level. The two most recent Arsenal signings from the league have been Santi Cazorla from Malaga and of course Mesut Özil from Real Madrid. These are two world class players who would walk into almost any side in the world. There are a number of players currently in La Liga who would elevate Arsenal to the next level and strongly compete for the Premiership.
1. Antoine Griezmann
The first target could be Carlos Vela’s teammate at Real Sociedad Antoine Griezmann. There have been reports that Arsenal could use Vela’s €4 miillon buyback as leverage to buy Griezmann at a cheaper price. His current release clause is between €25-30 million, but Arsenal could sign him for around €15-18 million. It would be an absolute steal for a player of his quality. The Frenchman has notched up 16 goals and 3 assists in La Liga this season. He is predominantly a left winger, which is an area Arsenal do not have a player who prefers to play in the position. Cazorla is more suited to the central attacking role and Podolski would rather player as a striker. Griezmann is only 23 and with his ability to hold the ball, cut in and shoot, he would be a welcome addition to a team with a lot of creative players.
Likelihood rating: Antoine Griezmann: 8/10 (Could be bought at a cheap price, would bring a lot to a creative team)
