2. Chuba Akpom
This is Chuba Akpom’s second pre-season with the Arsenal first-team squad and he’ll be looking to build on last summers successful tour of the far East. The highly rated forward scored 23 goals in 47 appearances last-term which included games for the Arsenal u.21’s and loan spells with Coventry and Brentford. This is a big summer for the youngster, and with The Gunners having limited options up-front Akpom has a serious chance of being close to the first-team. He has made a couple of first-team appearances to date, most notably against West Brom in the Capital One Cup where he came on and scored a decisive penalty in the shoot-out. The 18-year old is still quite raw but has shown glimpses of what he can do, particularly against Boreham Wood where he embarrassed two defenders with a silky bit of skill. Akpom will be looking to showcase more of his promised talent this Summer and hopefully land himself a role closer to the first-team squad.
