Arsene Wenger may have been dealt a massive blow in his pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette in the most Arsenal way possible… you couldn’t make this up!
Yes, the man that’s been linked with the Gunners throughout the summer was forced off at half-time after picking up an injury during the 4-1 loss to PSG.
Lyon went in 3-0 down at the mid-way stage and if that wasn’t bad enough, they had to lose their star striker due to him having pain in his quadricep towards the end of the first half.
It could be a massive turning point in the Gunners search for a new centre forward, and they will now wait on news to confirm how long the French international will be out for.
According to Goal, the 25-year-old will now undergo a series of scans to determine the seriousness of the injury, which may have prompted him to storm out of the stadium.
When questioned by reporters on his exit, Lacazette simply responded “I am not speaking” which leaves us wondering whether or not the striker is still happy with his club.
Both his manager and president have embarassed themselves with the public admiration for their fan favourite, and the player himself has already stated he would welcome a move away.

Despite the injury, nothing will stop Lacazette being able to complete a medical if he does move to the Gunners, but that won’t be the main concern for the frustrated fans anyway.
Arsenal need a striker now it’s as simple as that, because at the moment they’ll be lining up with Alexis playing as a fake number nine against Liverpool on August 14th.
That might not be a bad thing, but with nobody to challenge Olivier Giroud for a place this season the chances of Arsenal mounting a serious title charge look bleak.
