Arsenal were back to winning ways on Monday night when they welcomed Newcastle to The Emirates Stadium for the second time in 2021 already.
The Gunners had to be patient, but a flurry for second-half goals saw the club run out comfortable winners. The 3-0 win saw Arsenal move back into the top half, temporarily at least.
There were several great performances on the night but one player was singled out for specific praise by Arsenal fans.
Emile Smith Rowe continued to dazzle for the Gunners and notched up another crucial assist for Bukayo Saka. That followed two assists he’s managed in recent games vs. West Brom and Chelsea in the league and also a crucial goal in the FA Cup. He keeps growing.
Smith Rowe managed to notch up 4 key passes on the night, the same amount that the whole Newcastle team managed combined.
Emile Smith Rowe might be the real thing you know. Still early days but..

Emile Smith Rowe is a Kevin De Bruyne regen and I’m all for it.

No Arsenal player has provided more Premier League assists this season than Emile Smith Rowe (3), despite only making five appearances. [@Squawka] #afc pic.twitter.com/iJ1X0HxpgC

Emile Smith Rowe & Saka reminding me of Özil & Alexis, tears in my eyes. It’s beautiful.

My Player of the Day!!! Outstanding over the last few games and proved today why he should be Ozil heir with a great assist for Saka. Smith-Rowe created as many chances as the whole Newcastle team! pic.twitter.com/avgWoVCInx

Outstanding Smith Rowe….
We don't need to spend big on a No.10, put the funds into a Centre Half and a Central Midfielder.— Andy (@yorkshiregunner) January 18, 2021
And Emile himself was very happy…
