Arsène Wenger has now openly criticised people, and in particular Paul Merson, who claim to know what they are talking about despite having never managed a game. It is an absurd claim, and one that loses credibility following the decisions Arsène made during the Swansea game on Sunday. Calum Chambers was completely out of his depth against Swansea’s Montero and he was left to his own devices all afternoon, as Arsène failed to give him any protection. Montero managed to get the better of Chambers one last time and ultimately assisted the goal that made it 2-1. Arsenal fans everywhere knew it was coming, why didn’t Arsène? Another baffling moment in the game was the introduction of Yaya Sanogo in the dying minutes to try and pull a goal back and rescue a draw. Lukas Podolski, a German international and World Cup winner, had to sit on the bench and watch an almost-postman who had recently returned from injury attempt to grab Arsenal a point. You don’t need to be an experienced manager to know that there is something off about that decision.
