3.Samuel Eto’o
Many people were raising eyebrows at Chelsea decision to sign Samuel Eto’o as he once said “I would rather sell groundnuts than play for a pathetic team like Chelsea” in 2005 whilst playing for Barcelona, and also the fact that he is 33 years old and had seem to have lost a lot of his qualities that he used to possess. After a slow start to his premier league career, he seemed to find some of his old form and started the year well by scoring a hat trick against Manchester united in their 3-1 win. Eto’o seemed to score in a lot of the big games in the premier league, something that Arsenal didn’t do last season.
The experienced Cameroon striker was the first player Chelsea released this summer, so he is a free agent and to get a player of his quality for free would be an excellent signing. Eto’o also has a point to prove to Jose Mourinho, who questioned the 33 year olds ability and has said that he would love to move to a team in London, especially Arsenal, as he has a mutual respect for Arsene Wenger and has said he always wanted to play under the Frenchman. However Samuel Eto’o has been known to be a bit greedy and could want a large wage but if he comes on a free that could even out the finances.
