After a brilliant performance vs Hull City, we have been given Championship strugglers Brighton & Hove Albion in the next round, who slipped past Brentford in the previous round. Away from home, Brighton won 2-0, with goals coming from Dunk and O’Grady to sink their Championship rivals hopes.
Since the start of the season, Brighton have made up 26 points out of a possible 78, and sit 19th in the Championship. After 26 games, the Seagulls have scored only 27, and do not have a proven goalscorer, after the departure of Leonardo Ulloa to Leicester City for a club record transfer of £8million in the summer of 2014. But who are the leaders of the flock for the Seagulls? Here are 3 players we need to look out for.
1) Lewis Dunk
23 years old/ 6ft 4
Dunk has had a great season so far, in terms of personal achievement. Brighton have conceded 33 goals in the league alone this season, but he has been a solid player at the back, who usually doesn’t make mistakes. He is even Brighton’s top goal scorer this season, bagging 6 goals in all competitions, including a late winner against Brentford in the last round. His height could be an issue for our small team, and he usually advances forward as the game goes on, so don’t be shocked if he’s causing trouble near the end of the game.
