4 – Rob Holding
Arsenal have already been unsuccessful with two bids for Bolton’s Rob Holding, but it is possible that they will return with a third as Arsene Wenger looks to plan for life after Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny. There is a lack of quality youngsters in defence currently in Arsenal’s academy, so signing Holding, Bolton’s player of the year would be a good. The 20-year-old is a target for several Premier League clubs but it thought that the player would like to join Arsenal, where he sees a real chance of progression into the first team. Should he sign it would be unlikely that he would join the first team squad next season, with the young Calum Chambers already struggling for game time and a new central defender likely to join this summer. Holding won’t be a signing for the here and now, but for around £2million, he could be a very good investment should he continue to develop at the rate that he has recently.
