3 – Kalidou Koulibaly
With Petr Cech brought in last summer, Granit Xhaka signed and Jamie Vardy on the way, Wenger is just one piece of the jigsaw away from completing his spine of the team. He needs to sign a central defender. A young defender who is also mature and ready to excel in the first team. That’s extremely hard to find but one player who does appear to fit the bill is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and according to The Telegraph he is the primary defensive target for Arsenal.
Koulibaly is a brilliant blend of qualities that make him the perfect central defender for Arsenal. He’s tall, 6ft 5′, but also fast. Not only that but he can defend, and pass. Koulibaly makes almost twice as many forward passes compared to Arsenal’s other central defenders, highlighting his style to play as a ball-playing defender. Personally I feel he would be the ideal partner for Laurent Koscielny and his style of play makes him perfectly suited for Arsenal.
