The most recent development in this rumour has suggested that the Armenian midfielder favours a move to Arsenal ahead of Chelsea, who are also interested in signing the creative midfielder. Arsenal are desperate for more efficiency in the final third and if Mkhitaryan could replicate anything close to his 10 goals and 11 assists that he managed last season, at Arsenal, then he would be an incredible signing.
Mkhitaryan was originally considered as an attacking midfielder, but he has thrived playing on the wing this season under Tuchel. It is on the wing where he would play for Arsenal and although he is primarily a creative player, he has the pace and dribbling ability to excel in wide areas. If Vardy and Mkhitaryan are added to Arsenal’s front four, you can guarantee that there will be more goals and exciting attacking football than we saw last season.
