Arsenal have already signed Granit Xhaka for £30million this summer and are on the verge of completing a £20million deal for Jamie Vardy. Despite the £50million expenditure, Arsene Wenger reportedly wants more. Four more to be precise. Here are the four players strongly linked with a move to Arsenal.
1 – Ricardo Rodriguez
One Swiss signing already, Wenger reportedly wants another. Reports suggest that Wenger would like to bring Xhaka’s international teammates Ricardo Rodriguez to the club in a £19million deal. The 23-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in Europe and with Kieran Gibbs set to leave the club, Rodriguez could provide new competition for the aging Nacho Monreal. Rodriguez would be a more attacking option at left-back than Monreal, and he is also a set-piece specialist. Rodriguez has already talked up a move to Arsenal, saying it would be ‘exciting’ to play for the Gunners these words have only added more fuel to the transfer speculation.
Rodriguez has a £19million release clause that became active on June 1st and will be active for the entire month of June. It is thought that Arsenal may try and activate that clause early in the month in order to sign Rodriguez before other clubs get involved.
