Aaron Ramsey
The Welshman has also developed to be one of the club’s most talented players, unearthed from such a young age.
2013/14 was a ‘coming of age’ season for the 24 year-old former Cardiff City man, scoring 16 goals including the goal which won Arsenal the FA Cup final against Hull City. It was a fitting personal reward for such a highly impressive campaign, despite sustaining a lengthy injury in mid-season.
Ramsey’s attributes is his energy and athleticism from midfield. He loves to make those late runs into the box from the middle, allowing himself to be present at the right moment to latch onto balls and strike on sight, despite being deployed in an unnatural right winged position lately. A definite highlight of his season so far is his stunning 30 yard volley against Galatasaray in December.
In comparison to someone like Jack Wilshere, Ramsey is more of a goalscoring threat from midfield. He is capable of contributing at least 10 to 20 goals a season – a player he’s developed into during his 7 years at the club.
It’s his energy, athleticism and adventurous nature that’ll help drive the team forward when in possession.
