3. Clear Out The Dead-Wood
If we’re looking realistically at a side who want to top the Premier League next year, then we have to think carefully at who deserves a place at this prolific club.
Arsenal currently have 11 players out on loan, and Wenger needs to be careful about picking out the right mix of talent that still have time to shine.
The likes of Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski will simply be sat around waiting for the Capital One Cup to begin, and realistically can you see either of these two fitting back in to the side?
But before Wenger gets carried away, he has to consider that selling these players to fund a big money move could backfire on him. No player of the combined wages of Campbell and Podolski wants to be sat on the bench, so Wenger needs to make sure he has the right amount of ‘backup’.
Players like Yaya Sanogo, Carl Jenkinson and Chuba Akpom will also wait to see their summer fate, with Arsenal fans unsure what these understudy players seem to offer.
At this point in the season, its hard to understand who will be here and who won’t be, but if Wenger is clever enough he can have the right amount of players on the sidelines that don’t have a big enough ego to want out of the club too soon.
