3. Santi Cazorla – £8.5m
Santi Cazorla finished the season with a bang (his free kick against Hull City) and started the season with a bang against Manchester City. Santi knows his place in the side is far from guaranteed with Ozil ousting him out of his favoured attacking midfield position last summer and Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski now competing with him for the place on the left hand side of Arsenal’s formation.
Will he definitely play? Yes. With Mesut Ozil yet to come back into the squad, Santi Cazorla is the only natural playmaker in the side. Even with Ozil playing Cazorla seems Arsene’s first choice to play on the left, but without the German the Spaniard gets more freedom through the middle to do what he does best. He’s still likely to play on the left, but will be cutting in dangerously and he seems to have once again found his eye for goal.
