5 Realistic Alternatives If Jamie Vardy Rejects Arsenal Switch

5 – Luciano Vietto (Athletico Madrid)

A gamble for Arsenal, but if the outcome of some of Atletico Madrid’s strikers is anything to go by then Arsene Wenger should be keeping one eye on the youngster.

Two years ago the Italian was just 20 years old and in a debut season for Villarreal he bagged 20 goals, not a bad way to open up your account for one of La Liga’s top sides.

Exciting and ready to prove his doubters wrong, Vietto reminds me of Javier Hernandez, someone that Arsene Wenger has always been a fan of and linked to in recent years.

He managed just a year until Athletico came sniffing around, but following his £15million switch things haven’t exactly gone according to plan.

One goal in 19 appearances has shattered his confidence and alongside a string of injuries and failure to find form, his future now looks like a risk to both the club and Diego Simeone.

He’s a young striker who like to be in and around that penalty area to snatch a goal, but there definitely is no chance of him containing all of that supporter pressure.

Arsenal need a striker capable of coming in to score 20+ goals and win the league for them, so we should get ready to see something very different from Arsene Wenger.
