Wenger’s Gamble Backfires As Arsenal Star Is Ruled Out For Another Month

It’s only week one of the Premier League and if things weren’t bad enough in the transfer market, they’re about to get worse on the football pitch.

A lacklustre Arsenal side were dealt a deserved blow in their search for opening day success, falling short to Liverpool in dramatic fashion as Klopp’s men picked up a 4-3 victory.

With a trio of experienced internationals missing, as well as new Gunners captain Per Mertesacker, it was a game that needed characters to stand up and be counted at the Emirates.

But when the fans needed an overwhelming lift to pick them up from Wenger’s failure to secure some signings, experienced players let them down and echoes of “same old Arsenal” began to haunt the Emirates Stadium.

And now, in an update from The Telegraph, the man leading those chilling concerns is Aaron Ramsey, after the Welshman picked up an unwanted injury on Sunday afternoon.

Rambo was seen walking straight down the tunnel on the 61st minute and now it looks as if we’ll be without his service for at least a month according to reports.

Arsene Wenger is expected to hand us an official update on the team later this week, but the news won’t be good as Ramsey joins an already built-up list of injured Gunners.

The news means that Ramsey will now miss the trip to Leicester City and Watford, but the international break will mean he won’t miss as much of the Premier League as feared.

His target will now be to recover in time for Arsenal’s next outing at the Emirates against Southampton on September 10th, but Wenger will be reluctant to rush his star man back into action.

With so many options in midfield now, Wenger has to play around with this team to ensure they don’t get too fatigued and pick up silly injuries like this. Rotation will be key if he wants to win the league.

In other news, Alex Iwobi was also seen limping off to the changing rooms but his knock is only believed to be minor, and he could be rested for this weekends trip to the champions.
