Wenger may be looking to help one of his old friends Remi Garde by offering him a player who can’t get a game at The Emirates – Mathieu Debuchy. Debuchy, 30 is trying to get into France’s squad for the European Championships, but he can’t win his first team place back from Hector Bellerin, leaving his place in the National squad in jeopardy.

Debuchy would be a notable improvement on Alan Hutton for relegation strugglers Aston Villa. A loan move has been mooted, but there is the potential for a permanent deal. The Gunners will hope they can re-coup as much of the £10million they paid for Debuchy as possible, I’d expect his value to be around £6million at this moment.

Wenger may use Calum Chambers as his back up right back if Debuchy were to leave. Mathieu Flamini is also able to play in that position. Is that a good enough back up for Bellerin to win the title? I wouldn’t feel confident having to play Chambers or Flamini at right back for a prolonged amount of time if an injury to Bellerin were to occur.
