Serie A Side Ready To Pounce On Arsenal Veteran As Contract Runs Down

Juventus are eyeing up a possible move for Arsenal veteran Santi Cazorla, with the midfielders contract entering into its final year.

The Spaniard has been a key part to Wenger’s squad revival and has stayed loyal to the club when other offers were on the table in recent years.

Believe it or not, Santi is now one of the most experienced players in this current crop and at 31 years of age questions are being asked of how many years he’s got left.

After suffering a serious injury last season, Cazorla has rediscovered his fine form alongside Francis Coquelin and new boy Granit Xhaka, and doesn’t look a day over 25.

He’s already admitted that he’s unsure whether the Gunners are keen to draw up a new extension, but also made clear it’s not something he’s thinking about too much.

That’s led to rumours in Italy today suggesting the league champions Juventus are ready to swoop in with a bid to lure the Spanish international away from the Emirates.

There’s no doubt that Cazorla would have plenty of options as a free agent and after spending so many years with Arsenal it’s unlikely he’ll want to join another Premier League side.

Juventus could be the perfect place to run down his career, they have enough experience in European football and always expect high standards from each and every one of their players.

It would be a new test for Cazorla, but if he carries on playing the way he is I can see Arsenal offering him a two-year contract extension.

He lives and breathes Arsenal and its qualities like those that don’t go unrecognised at this club, and purely down to having an experienced mind in the dressing room he already offers more than enough.
